Kayrom Comedy brings together award-winning filmmakers, comedy industry veterans, and world-class production collaborators to build custom comedy specials for comedians at every stage. Led by Kyle Romanek, Evan G. Kay, and executive producer Barry Katz, our work includes Jay Mohr: Packing for Rehab, Ed Regine: We’re All Idiots, the original series Comedy Pickleball Showdown, and the Barry Katz documentary Who Hates Barry Katz? With decades of combined experience across comedy, entertainment, and cinematic production, we help comedians turn their material into something built to last.

Evan is Co-founder of Kayrom Studios, where he develops, produces, and directs documentary, narrative, and comedy projects designed to resonate with both audiences and buyers. His work focuses on building premium productions, developing distinctive creative voices, and producing stories with long-term commercial and cultural value.

Awards and the Co-founder of Kayrom Studios. His career spans premium nonfiction and documentary storytelling, with a focus on emotionally compelling narratives and character-driven filmmaking.

Barry Katz

Barry is an Emmy and Grammy-nominated producer, talent manager, podcast host, and one of the most experienced names in modern comedy. Across his career, Katz has helped shape or launch the careers of major stand-up voices including Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Dane Cook, Whitney Cummings, Jim Gaffigan, Wanda Sykes, Jay Mohr, and many more. His credits span stand-up specials, television, film, records, and documentaries, giving Kayrom Comedy a direct line into the business, strategy, and legacy of comedy.

Marc Janowitz
Lighting Designer
Marc Janowitz is the founder and chief designer of E26 Design, a New York-based lighting and production design studio whose work spans concerts, television, theater, live events, and comedy specials. His comedy work includes specials for major performers and platforms, with a design approach built around atmosphere, camera coverage, and creating a visual world that serves the performer. On Jay Mohr: Packing for Rehab, Marc brought the kind of high-level production design that makes a comedy special feel like a true event.

Jay Lafeyette
Director of Photography
Jay Lafayette is an Emmy Award-winning director of photography and a member of the International Cinematographers Guild with more than 25 years of experience across live performance, television, music, game shows, and comedy specials. His credits include major stand-up specials and the Emmy-winning children’s series Yo Gabba Gabba!, where he helped create the show’s iconic visual style. As DP on Jay Mohr: Packing for Rehab, Jay helped bring a cinematic, large-scale look to a deeply personal live performance

Thomas Cassetta
Sound Mixer
Thomas Cassetta is a production sound and re-recording mixer with deep experience in stand-up comedy specials, documentaries, podcasts, and live performance. His work includes specials for performers such as Andrew Schulz, Ari Shaffir, Pete Davidson, Tig Notaro, Atsuko Okatsuka, Marc Maron, Big Jay Oakerson, and others. For Kayrom Comedy, Thomas brings the precision required to capture the most important part of any special: the joke, the room, and the audience response.

Walter Valpatto
Colorist
Walter Volpatto is an award-winning senior colorist whose work spans major studio features, prestige television, and high-end finishing. His credits and honors include HPA-recognized work on Green Book and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, with the Hollywood Professional Association recognizing him for outstanding color grading. Kayrom has worked with Walter across multiple projects over the years, most recently on Jay Mohr: Packing for Rehab, where his finishing work helped give the special its polished cinematic identity.
